Chocolate Berry Smoothie (vegan, naturally sweetened)
A healthy, sweet, five-ingredient smoothie
Chocolate and berries has always been one of my favorite food combinations, and after creating a strawberry & chocolate oats recipe (see note below for recipe), I wanted make a smoothie version!
The sweetness of the mixed berries balances out the more bitter taste of the cacao, and allows for a sweeter (almost dessert like) smoothie! This drink is also a healthier option when looking for a sweet beverage, as the mixed berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries) are rich in antioxidants, and can support heart and brain health!
I recommend making this a smoothie into a bowl (and adding toppings), but it also works well taken on the-go, making it a great breakfast or snack option!

1 cup non-dairy milk (or water)
1/2 tbsp cacao powder
1/2 tbsp chia seeds
1 tsp maple syrup
Step by Step:
Add all ingredients into a blender, finishing with the non-dairy milk
Blend on medium until the smoothie has reached a creamy consistency
Serve in a mason jar, glass, or bowl, and enjoy!
Tip: make it a smoothie bowl and top with anything you like! I recommend the following: chocolate granola, oats, more fruit, ground flaxseeds, and/or more chia seeds
