Chocolate Covered Strawberry Oatmeal (vegan, gluten free, naturally sweetened)

A healthy & easy-to-make breakfast, snack, or dessert!

Strawberries and chocolate has to be one of my all-time favorite food combinations, making this one of my all-time favorite oatmeal recipes!

What I love about this recipe is not only how great it tastes, but how it is also healthy and nourishing as it is completely vegan, gluten-free, and has no added refined sugar. The recipe also only calls for five ingredients, making it budget friendly and easy to put together.

If you're looking to add a little sweetness to your day, this flavorful and nourishing strawberry & chocolate oatmeal is for you!


1/2 cup oats (gluten-free)

1/2 cup non-dairy milk (or water)

1 tsp unsweetened cacao powder

1/2 tsp maple syrup

2-3 small strawberries

Optional toppings:

1/2 tbsp vegan chocolate chips (highly recommend)

1/2 tbsp chia seeds

1/2 tbsp flaxseeds

Step by step:

  1. To a small saucepan on medium heat, add in your oats, non-dairy milk, cacao powder, and maple syrup

  2. Stir all the ingredients together and allow to cook for approximately 4-5 minutes, or until the oats reach a boil and are cooked through

  3. While the oats are being prepared, wash, dry, and slice your strawberries

  4. When oats are ready, carefully transfer them to a heat safe bowl

  5. Top with strawberries (and any additional toppings) and enjoy!

Tip: For overnight oats, place all ingredients from step 1 into an airtight container, mix or shake until the ingredients are well combined, allow to sit in the fridge for at least 6 hours, add strawberries and any additional toppings, and enjoy!
