Healthy Summer Smoothie (vegan, gluten free, no added sugar)

A simple and flavorful summer smoothie


Smoothies are a great way to incorporate fruits (and sometimes veggies) into our days, as they are both easy-to-make and great for taking on-the-go! I love having fruits throughout the day not only because of the many nutrients they provide, but also because I have found that the natural sugar that they hold has helped diminish my overall sugar cravings.


In this smoothie, the fresh strawberries mixed with the pineapple and aloe juice, in addition to the creamy texture that comes from the banana, all blend together to make this vibrant, nourishing, and flavorful beverage. With only four ingredients and an no added sugar, this easy-to-make smoothie is the perfect summer drink!


Note: The recipe provided below makes one serving, so feel free to adjust the amounts accordingly if hoping to share or save some!


Ingredients:


1 frozen banana

1 cup strawberries

1/2 cup pineapple juice

1/2 cup non-dairy milk (or aloe juice or water)


Step by Step:

  1. Add all ingredients into a blender, finishing with the juice and non-dairy milk

  2. Blend on medium until the smoothie has reached a creamy consistency

  3. Serve in a mason jar, glass, or bowl, and enjoy!

Tip: make it a smoothie bowl and top with anything you like! I recommend the following: granola, more fruit, ground flaxseeds, and/or chia seeds
